Our goals |
The aims of the CFS Research Foundation are three-fold; first, to gain a workable understanding of how the disease is caused (pathogenesis), and second, with that knowledge, to develop useful treatments which will lead to a cure in most cases. And thirdly, to develop a diagnostic test for the disease which is simple enough to be used widely and specific only to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). To our knowledge, we are the only CFS charity in the world with these aims, and despite the fact that they are extremely ambitious, and made more so by the fact that many key persons still believe that CFS is “all in the mind”, we have made rapid and meaningful progress. We believe that this disease can and will be conquered, but it will need the dedicated work of distinguished research scientists and the determination of people in the community to bring this about. The CFS Research Foundation believes that it plays a pivotal role in achieving this. See Current Research. |
